Comments | This is a pretty faithful Custom Shop reproduction of the Gibson 1961 Les Paul, the first year of the shape that became the SG. With a patina treatment, this guitar looks like it’s been tucked away for years. It’s very resonant and rings; very comfortable to play and the Maestro works well and has another little known advantage – it adds a little bit of weight to the tail, counterbalancing the guitar so it doesn’t have the neck-heaviness that SG’s often do.
The back of the headstock sports a maple leaf ‘Limited Edition’ logo. There are only a few of these guitars, ordered for the Canadian market by Gibson’s Canadian distributor. |
