Comments | Brand new and very cool! This is the new Gretsch Falcon G6139T CBDC.
At 16 inches across, it’s one inch smaller than the Double Cut, and it has what Chet always wanted – a spruce center block to reduce feedback and increase sustain and note to note separation. And naturally, the silver sparkle binding is as subtle and understated as you’d expect from a Falcon! Also available in white, with gold sparkle binding. |
Serial Number | Varies as new. This is JT13104830, built during October 2013 at the Terada plant in Japan. |
Pricing | $3749.99 Canadian Dollars with case. |
Neck | Maple neck with silver sparkle binding (gold sparkle on the white version), ebony fingerboard, neo-classic mother of pearl position markers. The heel begins at the 15th fret so there’s lots of access to the upper registers. |
Frets | 22 Medium Jumbo frets. |
Body | 16 inch wide maple laminate body with larger, sparkle bound F-holes. Spruce center block for feedback rejection. |
Finish | Black or white gloss urethane finish. |
Hardware/electronics | Grover Imperial tuners, Bigsby B6 vibrato unit and adjusto-matic bridge. Pickup selector, master volume, master tone, individual volume controls. Two High Sensitive Filter ‘Tron pickups. |
Playability/Action | This guitar plays extremely well, and the slightly smaller body size makes it a little more comfortable than the 17 inch White and Black falcon G6136 models. |
Case | Original Gretsch case included. |
