Brand: Yair Stern
Instrument Categories: Mandolins, SOLD
Yair Stern has a workshop in Oshawa, Ontario and builds musical instruments, primarily of the mandolin family as well as jewelry and watches. His mandolins and octave mandolins use a teardrop shape similar to the Gibson A-Style, though they use a flat top and back.
Here we have a Yair Stern Teardrop mandolin, with a Sitka spruce top, Sapele for the back, head plate and binding, flame Maple for the sides and neck, with Rosewood for the fingerboard and bridge.
This Yair Stern Teardrop mandolin is a new instrument, and is well made with quality materials. The tone is warm yet bright and snappy, well balanced with good clarity and separation. It is very comfortable to play and its light hand applied finish provides some protection but does not restrict the wood’s vibration. The tailpiece is a cast, chrome plated AShton Bailey unit. The tuners are also chrome plated, with faux pearl buttons.
A gig bag is included.
