Here we have a William Laskin Cedar Top classical guitar, built during 1992 and featuring the Laskin Arm Rest, 655mm scale length and very nice Indian Rosewood sides and back.
Built in the traditional Spanish style with a slipper heel integrating the body and neck, this William Laskin Cedar Top classical is in good condition. It has some honest wear from its use in many performances and recording sessions, in both Classical and Latin genres. There are a few small pressure marks on the back and top, and a small mark behind the bridge from an errant string end.
This guitar is built with a Red Cedar top paired with Indian Rosewood for the sides, back and 12-hole bridge (the 12 holes allow for greater downbearing at the saddle). The neck is traditional Spanish Cedar or Cedrela Odorata , with Ebony used for the fingerboard and head plate. Excellent quality Sloan tuners are original equipment.
Since this guitar was used for live performance and recording, a K&K pickup set is installed to an endpin jack. And, a non-traditional strap pin has been placed on the heel.
William Laskin’s work is about as good as is possible. The wood selections and joinery are extremely high quality and the designs are well thought out and executed, for tone, responsiveness, playability, durability and reliability.
This guitar is sold with a grey hard shell case.
