❌SOLD❌ Wildwood Troubador Maple Natural Openback Banjo, 2007

Brand:

Instrument Categories: , ,

Built during 2007 in Bend, Oregon, this Wildwood Troubador Natural Maple banjo sports a Tubaphone tone ring and is in great condition. The construction is Maple with an Ebony fingerboard, with rope-style decorative strips along the neck and around the rim. Wildwood Banjos were built by Mark Platen from 1973 until his retirement in 2018.

The Wildwood Troubador Openback 5-String Banjo was the flagship model for the Wildwood Frailing and Clawhammer traditional banjo line.

Clawhammer and Frailing are traditional banjo styles making a significant comeback. Not only are players exploring older traditional and historic repertoire, but new modern music is being created regularly outside of the old-time and bluegrass contexts. The banjo can work extremely well with a voice an expressive device.

Open-back banjos are not as loud as resonator models, but they do still project well. The simple addition of an inexpensive mute, slipped on the bridge, can dramatically reduce volume for practice.

Sold with its original hard shell case.
