Introduced in 1999, the Weber Gallatin F14-F F-Style mandolin delivers punch, clarity and playability in a visually stripped down package. The core materials and build quality are all there, but it’s just not highly decorated and you’ll never be able to tell from the recordings!

Built during June of 2003 in Belgrade, Montana this Weber Gallatin F14-F mandolin features a Sitka spruce top with Mahogany for the back, sides and neck, and ebony for the fingerboard and bridge. The body and neck are not bound. A Brekke bridge is in place. The original patents awarded to Weber employee Vernon Brekke were licensed to Weber.

Weber mandolins are well known for their high quality, tone and value. The Weber Gallatin series is the entry point for these fine instruments.

Having been played, this 2003 Weber Gallatin F14-F sounds great, and it plays very well. Fretwear is light to moderate and while the mandolin has been well cared for, the nitrocellulose lacquer finish has some natural oxidization and light wear.

The original black rectangular TKL-made hardshell case is included.

The Weber company has its roots in the Flatiron Mandolin and Banjo Company at Bozeman, Montana around 1987. That company was ‘purchased’ by Gibson and became Gibson Acoustic. In 1996, Gibson decided to move mandolin production to Nashville. Several employees including Bruce Weber and Vernon Brekke declined to move and in 1997 created Sound to Earth in Weber’s barn, soon producing more instruments than their shop could handle. This led to a 1998 move from Bozeman to Belgrade, Montana, and in 2004 another move to larger quarters. In 2012, Weber joined Two Old Hippies and in 2013 they all moved to Bend, Oregon. Bruce Weber retired in 2016.
