Here we have a lovely Weber Bitterroot F14 O Oval hole, F Style mandolin in classic finish, built in Bend, Oregon during 2002 and signed by Bruce Weber.
Built using a mix of traditional and modern techniques, this Weber Bitterroot F14 O Oval Hole F Style Mandolin features an X-braced Sitka Spruce top, Flame Maple for the sides, back, and neck, and Ebony for the non-radiused fingerboard. The original bridge has been replaced with a Brekke Bridge.
This mandolin is in good shape with some finish chipping in the more vulnerable pointed edges. It has definitely been played – its tone is open and sweet, with plenty of dynamic response.
A red Golden Gate fiberglass case is included.
More From The Builder On The Weber Bitterroot F14 O Mandolin:
“The Weber Bitterroot F14 O Mandolin is an exquisite traditional, minimalist mandolin. With the Bitterroot, simply bring your talent and enjoyment of music to any setting, and let the Bitterroot do the heavy lifting.
Players love the silky satin finish and the ivory binding that give this mandolin distinctive visual appeal. Combine the playability of the radiused fingerboard, the bluegrass muscle of the X-Bracing, aged-Sitka top, along with the elegant traditional aesthetic, and you get one of the best, most affordable mandolins on the planet.
The Bitterroot is Montana’s state flower, whose fleshy roots were used extensively as food by the Native Americans, Lewis and Clark, and the pioneers and mountain men that followed. The Bitterroot Mountains follow the border between Idaho and Montana.”
