Harkening back to the 1920s and 1930s, the Waterloo WL14 LTR leads the Waterloo line, available with ladder or X bracing and a very thin nitrocellulose lacquer Boot Burst finish.
Waterloo guitars aim to reproduce the sound of depression-era instruments, but are built to the highest standards by people who really know and care about their craft. The outcome is probably as good as these designs can be, which is saying something.
Here we’re looking at a 2018 Waterloo WL14 LTR in Boot Burst finish. This model pairs a ladder braced Sitka Spruce top with Mahogany for the back, sides, and neck. The fingerboard in Indian Rosewood with Mother of Pearl dot position markers, and the bridge and nut are Ebony. The saddle is a bone drop-in design.
This guitar is in great condition, with only the lightest wear.
The original Waterloo hard shell case is included.
Here is what Collings says about the Waterloo WL14 LTR:
“Waterloo WL-14 “Boot Burst” Edition
Brimming with Texas vibe, the warm colors of the “Boot Burst” Edition WL-14 were inspired by the dyed leather of a well-loved pair of cowboy boots. We recreated the smoky, tan and amber hue of this particular pair of boots as a full-body sunburst that spans the top, back, sides and neck and is complemented by ivoroid top binding. A cream pickguard and matching tuner buttons tie this new aesthetic all together for an eye catching and unmistakably classic look.
Just like the standard WL-14, the “Boot Burst” Edition has a sizable, vintage-inspired neck with a prominent “V” shape, although we also offer an alternate lower-profile option for those who prefer more moderately sized necks. All WL-14 models are built with a fully adjustable truss rod and include a Hardshell TKL case. This model is also available with an optional Aged Finish for an authentic time-worn appearance.”
