The Taylor 914ce-L1 was produced as a Limited Edition during 2003, adding the Cindy inlay set to the stock Grand Auditorium model. The L1 featured Indian Rosewood for the back and sides, and an L3 version was also available with Brazilian Rosewood.
Close to the top of the line, the Taylor 914ce-L1 paired a Sitka Spruce top with Indian Rosewood for the back, side, truss rod cover, headplate and backstrap. The body blocks and neck are Mahogany, with Ebony for the bridge and bound fingerboard. The Abalone inlay set is in the ‘Cindy’ design, named after Bob Taylor’s wife. Abalone inlay extends to the top purfling and rosette ring. As a CE model, the body has a Venetian cutaway and the ES-1 pickup and preamp set, with the battery box thoughtfully integrated into the tail block. The ES-1 version of the EQ/preamp circuit is powered by a pair of AA batteries rather than a 9v.
This Taylor 914-L1 dates to the 9th of December, 2003 and was built at the main Taylor plant in El Cajon, California. It is in very good, clean condition with vanishingly light fret and play wear.
The original Taylor branded hard shell case is included.
