The Taylor 414ce-R Grand Auditorium Rosewood was launched at the 2016 Summer NAMM show, adding a Rosewood option in place of Ovangkol. Rosewood delivers a somewhat warmer and punchier tone. The design is very versatile, with plenty of volume and projection, suitable for everything from fingerstyle to flatpicking. The factory ES2 pickup system makes it ready to plug in should amplification be required.
This Taylor 414ce-R example dates to February 22, 2017 at El Cajon, California and is in very good, clean condition with very light wear. As a 2017 model, it has the older Taylor bracing pattern, which was replaced by V-class bracing in 2018.
The original Taylor hard shell case is included.
Here’s the builder on the Taylor 414ce-R Grand Auditorium Rosewood:
“Our lowest-priced Grand Auditorium to feature the all-star tonewood combination of solid Indian rosewood back and sides with a Sitka spruce top, the 414ce-R serves up a versatile combination of rich, adaptable tone, comfortable play and clean style. Generating a warm voice with strong low-end presence and a sparkling treble range, the 414ce-R is favored by players for its Swiss-army-like utility and easy-playing neck. Aesthetic details include white binding, a faux-tortoiseshell pickguard and Renaissance fretboard inlays. The 414ce-R includes a hardshell case, and its built-in ES2 electronics make it easy to plug in any play wherever you go.”
