Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, REDUCED, SOLD
The Takamine DSF48c Santa Fe is now discontinued, but replaced by the TSF48c – the difference is in the installed preamp, while the rest of the guitar is unchanged.
Takamine was one of the first companies to market a successful pickup-equipped steel string guitar, and one of their key developments was with the preamp and EQ systems. For a time, it seemed every Country stage had at least one Takamine.
Built using a modified, Venetian cutaway Jumbo body, the Takamine DSF48c Santa Fe features solid woods throughout – Spruce for the top, Indian Rosewood for the sides, back, head plate and bridge, Mahogany for the neck and body blocks, and Ebony for the fingerboard. The position markers are Abalone or Paua shell with a South Western motif. The rosette represents a set of crow heads.
The preamp is a AD-1 DSP model, providing treble, bass, reverb , feedback suppression, and the ability to store settings in preset locations.
This guitar dates to 2002 and was built in the Takamine Sakashita plant, in what is now Nakatsugawa. It is an excellent instrument, with very light wear and a few very small scuffs.
A hard shell case is included.
Here’s the builder on the current version of the Takamine DSF42C Santa Fe:
“The Takamine TSF48C Santa Fe NEX is handcrafted in our pro series facility that has been building precision quality instruments over five decades. The solid spruce top is matched with a solid rosewood back for excellent projection, power and broad dynamic range.
The theme is southwest Native American, with a black crow rosette, eagle fingerboard inlays, gloss natural finish and gold with amber pearl key tuners. Features a fully bound body and fretboard. The mahogany neck is joined to the body with a traditional, ultra strong dovetail joint.”
