The Stelling Sunflower 5-string banjo was created by slightly modifying and adding to the Bellflower inlay pattern, and making the neck and resonator out of curly maple instead of walnut. Built during 2013 at the Stelling shop in Afton, Virginia and sporting a gloss Cremona Sunburst finish, this example is in excellent condition.
Geoff Stelling has been building banjos under the Stelling Banjo Works name since 1974 and played semi-professionally from the mid-1960s. His banjos include a patented wedge-fit pot assembly that provides an solid, stable fit between the tone ring, flange and wood rim and a patented tailpiece. Each finished banjo is set up and tested by Geoff himself.
The original Stelling hard shell case is included with this banjo.
