First built for the late Bill Emerson in late 1989 and moving into the production catalog in 1990, the Stelling Red Fox quickly became one of Stelling’s most popular models. Sporting a gloss finish with red stained, highly flamed Maple, and with Abalone inlays of leaves and a Red Fox, this is a very attractive and great sounding instrument.
This Stelling Red Fox is one of the earlier examples, built during 1991. This example has a serial number of 3746, and the first production Red Fox in 1990 had the serial 3561. This lovely instrument is in good clean condition with only light wear. In addition to the basic Red Fox features, it has a pair of Keith D-Tuners and a 5th string sliding capo. It was recently serviced by Grant MacNeill at The Twelfth Fret.
The original Stelling branded hard shell case is included.
Last year, Geoff Stelling announced that after 47 years in business, he would retire and close Stelling Banjos during 2022.
