The Schecter KM6 Keith Merrow is a solidbody, neck through design with ebony compound radius fingerboard and a pair of splitable humbuckers. The top cap is nicely flamed maple, on swamp ash wings and a maple center neck core. The neck also features large frets, carbon fibre stiffening rods and glow in the dark position markers! The finish is a trans white on the top and peghead front, with the rest a satin black. The pickups are by Seymour Duncan, not surprising given Keith Merrow’s work with Duncan. Cases or gig bags are available, but not included.
Schecter has discontinued this model, though there are other Schecter Keith Merrow models available.
Here we’re looking at a lightly used, great condition Schecter KM6 with Trans White Satin finish and black hardware. It has a repaired and well touched up neck crack. This crack went from the bottom bass corner of the nut to below the 2nd fret; this is a fairly common split and such repairs are very solid and successful.
Schecter Guitars was founded by David Schecter in 1976 and originally produced replacement parts for existing guitar manufacturers like Fender and Gibson. Today, Schecter mass produces a wide range of guitars and basses largely aimed towards rock and metal guitar players with sleek modern designs, fast playing necks and tons of great features.
Keith Merrow is a studio player, producer, songwriter and teacher. He is also a product specialist for Seymour Duncan pickups which are featured in his signature guitars. While Keith is known primarily for blazing fast guitar work and heavy riffs his signature guitar have a simple elegance which will work well for many different styles of playing. These guitars feature fast playing necks, locking tuners, coil tapping pickups and excellent upper fret access.
