❌SOLD❌ Rob Allen MB2 Fretless Bass Walnut, 2010

Here we have a Rob Allen MB2 Fretless Bass, built with a Walnut topped Mahogany body during 2010 at Allen’s shop in Fillmore, California.Rob Allen designs and builds to his own preferences combining acoustic and electric tonalities. The Allen MB-2 bodies are semi-hollow, and use acoustic style bridges rather than massive metal units. The bridge itself is Rosewood, with a Bone saddle and a built-in Fishman transducer – there is also a volume control on the bridge itself.
On this Rob Allen MB2, the body is chambered Mahogany with a bookmatched Black Walnut top. The tuners are lightweight models by HipShot, mounted on a Birds-eye Maple neck with Rosewood fingerboard. The fingerboard is fretless, but was cut for fret slots and veneer inserted; this gives an accurate visual reference for finger placement.
This well built instrument is in very good condition and with its light weight is very comfortable to play, and sounds great. A Gig Bag is included.

Unlike magnetic pickups which primarily sense the metal in the string, a piezo is a vibration sensor, making the sound of the wood itself the dominant factor.
