The Rickenbacker 360 thinline is an iconic instrument originally designed by Roger Rossmeisl in 1958 as a flat-topped, thin hollow body model with top and back binding.
Halfway through 1964, the Rickenbacker 360 gained a New Style body to further differentiate the 360 from the 330. The New Style body is Maple, but has a chambered top with very rounded edges and integrated sides. The back is attached to the top/side assembly, and is then bound – this is why there is only binding on the back. In the mid 1970’s, two further changes were made with a 24-fret neck becoming standard and High-Gain pickups replaced the traditional ‘Toaster Tops’.
Here we’re looking at a very nice Rickenbacker 360 thinline in FireGlo – Ric’s term for a gloss cherry sunburst finish – and in very clean and complete condition – even the bridge cover is in place! This example has light play wear to the finish, and light fret wear.
As other Rickenbacker 360 examples, the wiring allows both Mono and ‘Ric-O-Sound’ output, where each pickup can be routed to a separate amp, amp channel, or mixer channel strip. The Ric-O-Sound jack requires a special cable, which is wired identically to a standard TRS ‘insert cable’, used for attaching outboard effects to a mixing console. A TRS cable is included.
The Rickenbacker 360 thinline is an extremely comfortable guitar to play, delivers a wide range of sounds, and has very classy looks.
The original rectangular RIC case is included.
