Brand: Rickard Banjos
Instrument Categories: Banjos, SOLD
We’ve received a new Brass Spunover Dobson 12-inch, open back banjo from Rickard Banjos in Aurora, just north of Toronto, and it’s a real peach, as Rickard products tend to be.
Bill Rickard has been developing his line of banjos and banjo components for several years and his output is impressive. This Brass Spunover Dobson Ring open back 5-string banjo is a great example of the quality of his work. Built using a Maple neck with Ebony fingerboard and frailing scoop, and long-lasting EVO fretwire – not quite as hard as stainless steel, and easier on strings – this banjo has the 12 inch pot in an antiqued raw brass finish. It looks really great, and has a sound to match; this is definitely a case of having both show and go.
The original hard shell case is included.
Here’s how Rickard Banjos describes the Brass Spunover Dobson model:
“This raw brass spunover model features our Dobson style tone ring with maple neck and rim insert, 25.5 scale ebony fretboard with diamond and star inlay.
The combination of our seamless spunover rim and Dobson tone ring produces a sound that is strong yet mellow with a dynamic range of tone that is very responsive to the players touch.
Other features include our premium brass hardware, EVO gold fretwire and Rickard 10:1 Ratio Tuners.”
