The Fender Classic Stratocaster line has been built in Ensenada Mexico from 1991, largely offering ‘vintage style’ designs and hardware, here as a 1970’s version, while the ‘American’ line sported more modern hardware and design innovations.
Here we’re looking at an early Fender Classic Stratocaster in Olympic White, built around late 1999 in Ensenada, Mexico as an ‘1970’s Style’ Strat with Bullet truss rod, MicroTilt 3-bolt neck joint and vintage-style bridge and tuners. It is in very good, clean condition, but not entirely original; the pickups have been replaced with a set of Fender Noiseless models, which work very well. It plays well, fret wear is minimal and the finish is in great condition.
These guitars were originally shipped with Gig Bags, an excellent choice for a very durable guitar. This Fender Classic Stratocaster is sold with a black molded Fender ‘Poodle’ case, a design that dates back to the very first Fender cases, as can be seen in this link. The modern ‘Poodle’ or ‘Chainsaw’ cases are stronger and lighter than the originals.
