Built from 1999 to 2007, the PRS Santana II updated the Santana I model introduced in 1995, and was succeeded by the Santana III. All followed the same basic formula of a carved Maple cap on a Mahogany body, with a set Mahogany neck and 11.5 inch radius Rosewood fingerboard.
The PRS Santana II has been the most expensive of the three models, with Artist-grade matched flamed Maple tops, high grade and Brazilian Rosewood for the fingerboard and head plate. The top sports three lines of Abalone strips, two stretching between the pickups and one along the centerline, from the bridge to the tail. The fingerboard carries Abalone PRS bird inlays, and the head plate an Eagle. The truss rod cover carries a Devanagari OM symbol. The top finish is a Salmon orange, with the rest of the guitar natural.
It also features PRS locking tuners with black buttons, the Santana profile neck, and custom Santana pickups with a three-way toggle switch, Master Volume and Tone controls.
This PRS Santana II example dates to 4-17-2000, built in Stevensville, Maryland. It is in excellent, clean condition and is sold with its original hard shell case.
