The PRS S2 Single cut Standard Satin, discontinued in 2019, appeared in 2015 as a workhorse guitar for gigging musicians. The Satin finish, applied without filler to the Mahogany body and neck, provide a thin, unrestrictive coating that feels great and also reduces production cost and retail price.
Featuring a contoured, single-cutaway Mahogany body and Mahogany set-neck with an unbound 22-fret Indian Rosewood fingerboard, the PRS S2 Single cut Standard Satin came stock with a wrap-around adjustable bridge/tailpiece combination, reminiscent of the 1980’s Leo Quann Badass bridge.
This example, dating to 2019 and built at Stevensville Maryland, is in overall good condition with a number of hardware alterations. The stock tuners have been replaced with lightweight, Italian made carbon fibre tuners from a company named Heart-Sound, and the pickups have been replaced. The neck pickup is a DiMarzio Humbucker from Hell with a push-push coil split while the bridge pickup is a Bare Knuckle Brute Force model, with a blend-able coil split.
This guitar has a good setup and plays quite well, and has been used as intended so there’s wear on the back and edges.
Sold with its original black PRS branded gig bag.
