The PRS Custom 24 is the guitar that really started PRS in the production guitar world at the end of 1985. Blending the best elements of other designs in an elegant and attractive package, the Custom 24 has been at the core of the PRS line since its introduction.
Seen here is a PRS Custom 24 built during 2007 in Stevensville, Maryland. It is in overall good clean shape though there is some finish chipping on the treble edge of the neck at frets 10-14 and on the bass side. As a 2007 model, it has a 5-position rotary pickup selector.
For its construction, the PRS Custom 24 combines a carved Maple cap with Mahogany for the body back and neck. The fingerboard is Rosewood with Mother of Pearl bird inlays. For hardware, PRS locking tuners are at the head, and at the body is the patented PRS six-screw trem with push-in arm. All the hardware is original, fret wear is minimal, and it plays well and cleanly.
The original hard shell case is included.
Here’s the builder on the PRS Custom 24:
“The PRS Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith brought to the public at PRS Guitars’ first Winter NAMM show in 1985 and has been a top seller ever since. “
