Here is a lovely, turn of the millennium Emerald Green PRS Custom 24 built during 2000 in Stevensville, Maryland.
The PRS Custom 24 is at the very center of the PRS ‘Core’ line – it is the guitar that started PRS, and which influences many of their other models.
This example was built during 2000 at the PRS plant in Stevensville, Maryland – just over an hour east of historic Funkstown, and just north of Baltimore. The core design is a unique blend of elements from other proven models, with a carved Maple cap on a Mahogany body back, and a Mahogany set-neck with Indian Rosewood fingerboard and 25 inch scale length. It is in overall good, original condition with some light wear, particularly a bit of buckle or jean-rivet rash on the back. Fret wear is light, and the guitar plays well and cleanly.
A hard shell case is included, and contains the original hang-tag and truss rod wrench.
Here is the builder on the current PRS Custom 24:
“The PRS Custom 24 is the quintessential PRS guitar. This iconic instrument was the first model that Paul Reed Smith brought to the public at PRS Guitars’ first Winter NAMM show in 1985 and has been a top seller ever since. Played by internationally touring artists, gigging musicians, and aspiring players, the Custom 24 features PRS’s patented Gen IIII tremolo system and PRS 85/15 pickups with volume and tone controls and a 5-way blade switch. 85/15 pickups were personally designed by Paul Reed Smith to offer remarkable clarity and extended high and low end.
The Custom 24 is the original PRS. Since its introduction, it has offered a unique tonal option for serious players and defined PRS tone and playability.”
