Here we have a Pin-Up ‘Beth’ model from Eric Daw, a Butterscotch 1952 Spec T-Style guitar by a master builder, with a moderate relic treatment. This is a very good, resonant and lively guitar!
Eric Daw has been repairing and building since the mid 1990’s and was for 15 years at Emerald City Guitars in Seattle, with many top rank touring and recording clients. He’s had plenty of chances to closely examine the best vintage guitars, and it’s clear he made the most of those opportunities.
His Pin-Up ‘Beth’ model starts with a T-style design with a lightweight, one piece Ash body, and one-piece, 7.5 inch radius Maple neck with vintage style frets and rear-mounted truss rod and Walnut ‘Skunk Stripe’. The body wears a thin Butterscotch lacquer finish, while the neck is clear lacquer. The hardware is nickel plated and overall, a light relicing approach has been used. The serial number, 191, is stamped into the end of the headstock.
The source of the Pin-Up and ‘Beth’ references can be seen on the back of the guitar, a 40’s style image close to the output jack.
The pickguard is black Bakelite, as was used on the earliest of these models and the pickups are Alnico models hand made in-house, again to 1952 spec. Top quality US made components are used throughout the electronics.
This Pin-Up ‘Beth’ example is in great condition, plays very well and sounds great.
The original black rectangular hard shell case is included.
