Brand: Peter Hopkins
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Archtop, Guitars, SOLD
This Peter Hopkins Tessa Nova archtop electric was built as part of the ‘Red Collection’ for the 2009 Montreal Guitar Show. A full body archtop with floating Kent Armstrong pickup, it’s built with spectacularly figured Big Leaf Maple and Sitka Spruce. The Tessa Nova, like Hopkins’ other models, is built in Penticton, British Columbia.
Here’s Peter Hopkin’s description of the Tessa Nova arch top guitar:
“The Tessa Nova is a beautiful contemporary interpretation of the traditional archtop timeless lines. The graceful sweeping forms of pickguard, tailpiece, sound holes and pickup, intersect and merge in a rhythmic flow. The Tessa Nova’s tone is unmistakably archtop, but with a clean, open and percussive voice that lends itself well to chord melody and solo playing. “
The basic features of the Tessa Nova include:
- Large flared “Nova” headstock
- Gotoh 510 tuning machines.
- Neo-classical fingerboard.
- Elegant unbound body with “rolled” edges.
- Open “scimitar” soundholes
- Matching tailpiece, bridge, pickguard and headstock with convex surfaces on tailpiece and -pickguard.
- Custom Kent Armstrong suspended pickup.
- Ameritage hardshell case.
This guitar is in very good condition with a small amount of wear, and has been set up by Grant MacNeill. The original Ameritage case is included.
