❌SOLD❌ Martin D16H Steel String Dreadnought, 1992

❌SOLD❌ Martin D16H Steel String Dreadnought, 1992

The Martin D16H was built from 1991 to 1993, and sought to combine vintage D-18 elements with modern neck profiles and led to the D-18V models. Relatively rare, the Martin D16H is one of the hidden gems from the Martin line. Lightweight and built as well as the other Dreadnought models and like the D-18, the D16H features a Sitka Spruce top with Mahogany for the sides, back, body blocks and neck.

❌SOLD❌ Fender Champ Lap Steel, Desert Sand 1959

❌SOLD❌ Fender Champ Lap Steel, Desert Sand 1959

This Fender Champ Lap Steel, built during 1959 at the Fender plant in Fullerton, California is in very nice, mostly original condition. The Fender Champ Lap Steel was often sold as part of a starter set, with Fender’s smallest amplifier – the 5 watt Champ. That amp itself went on to become very popular in some recording studios. For example, it’s the amp Eric Clapton used for much of the Derek and the Dominos – Layla album.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson SG Standard Tribute Walnut 2019

❌SOLD❌ Gibson SG Standard Tribute Walnut 2019

The Gibson SG Standard first appeared in 1961 as a radical update to the Les Paul model, and bore the Les Paul name until 1963. This change had two drivers – one, Les Paul himself was not overly fond of the design, and his endorsement association with Gibson was coming to an end, partly due to complications with his divorce from Mary Ford. With the change in name, the Les Paul models disappeared from production until 1968, its resurgence sparked by the combination of that guitar and Marshall stacks as used by British blues-influenced players.

❌SOLD❌ Kay Old Kraftsman Red Devil K592 Thinline Electric Red, 1962

Here is a very cool piece from 1962 – a Kay Old Kraftsman Red Devil model K592, the top of the Speed Demon line, built for the Spiegel catalog and direct mail company. This model was built between 1962 and 1965. Kay began in 1931 as the successor to the Stromberg-Voisinet, which was itself the 1921 successor to the Groeschel company, founded in 1890. Based in Chicago, Illinois, for a time Kay was one of the largest instrument builders in the USA, and supplied many catalog companies and department stores.

❌SOLD❌ Hans Schmidt Classical Guitar Brazilian Rosewood, 1980s

❌SOLD❌ Hans Schmidt Classical Guitar Brazilian Rosewood, 1980s

Here we have a Hans Schmidt Classical Guitar, built in Rock Creek BC during the 1980s and featuring a lovely Brazilian Rosewood set for the sides, back and head plate. While there isn’t a lot of information available,  Hans Schmidt apparently built classical guitars and Celtic Harps during the 1980s and 1990s in his workshops in the southern central area of British Columbia,  at the lower end of the Okanagan Valley, not far from the Canadian border.  This is a spectacular area!
