❌SOLD❌ Fender Stratocaster Elite Sienna Sunburst, 1983

❌SOLD❌ Fender Stratocaster Elite Sienna Sunburst, 1983

Here’s a fairly rare sighting– from 1983, an original condition Fender Stratocaster Elite in Sienna sunburst. This model was built only in 1983 and 1984, and introduced a number of new features and hardware pieces. Most visible of the 1983 Fender Stratocaster Elite updates are the short-lived FreeFlyte knife-edge trem, and the pushbutton pickup selectors. New pickups were installed, and the output jack went on the side – in this case, a standard barrel jack.

The Kauer Daylighter Express Deluxe is now discontinued but like other Kauer models is not a slavish copy of other designs, but tries to make real improvements. SOLD Schecter E1 SLS Elite Through-Neck Electric Black Fade Burst

SOLD Schecter E1 SLS Elite Through-Neck Electric Black Fade Burst

The Schecter E1 SLS Elite is Schecter Guitar Research’s take on the outrageous but instantly recognisable Gibson Explorer style body shape, with some influences from the Ibanez Iceman in the mix. This guitar shape basically screams rock and roll! Their version makes some subtle aesthetic changes to the silhouette but the major differences are in the feature sets and ergonomics. The body is made of swamp ash which is generally a fairly light weight wood. That is important for maintaining a comfortable playing weight with a guitar as large as this.

❌SOLD❌ Yamaha SG2000 Solidbody Sunburst, 1982

❌SOLD❌ Yamaha SG2000 Solidbody Sunburst, 1982

Introduced in 1976, the Yamaha SG2000 was considered perhaps the finest solidbody guitar from Japan – perhaps from anywhere – for its time. This design was the result of a collaboration between Yamaha and Carlos Santana to improve the Yamaha SG175. The result became the flagship of the Yamaha electric line until 1988. Around 1983, Gibson gave legal notice to Yamaha over the use of the ‘SG’ term, and Yamaha responded by changing the name for US models to SBG for Solid Body Guitar. However, in Japan, the SG name stayed until 1988 when the model was discontinued.

SOLD Taylor 317 Grand Pacific Slope Shoulder Dreadnought

SOLD Taylor 317 Grand Pacific Slope Shoulder Dreadnought

The new Taylor 317 uses one of the newest body shapes from Taylor guitars, the Grand Pacific. It is a round shoulder dreadnought design, paired with Taylor’s new V class bracing system. This marks a new sound for Taylor guitars inspired by classic acoustic guitar sounds and coupled with the sonic improvements of their V class bracing. The tone is warm with powerful clear bass and round full notes that smoothly blend together to create a unified harmonic voice. These guitars can work exceptionally well as accompaniment to a voice

❌SOLD❌ Dobro Model 66S Squareneck OMI Sandblast Sunburst, 1975

❌SOLD❌ Dobro Model 66S Squareneck OMI Sandblast Sunburst, 1975

Here we’re looking at an unusual guitar, the Dobro Model 66s, a wood bodied, single cone resophonic guitar with round sound holes and square neck. Its unique feature is the finish. The guitar was first given a standard Sunburst, then many extra coats of a tinted lacquer, and then that was sandblasted into a ‘French Scroll’ design. This Dobro Model 66s example dates to 1975 and was built at Huntington Beach, California.
