Trinity College mandolins are designed for traditional Celtic music, though they are used in a wide variety of other styles, too. The traditionally styled body of the TM-325 Octave Mandolin is complimented by an elegant snakehead peghead with the new Celtic-inspired cross. The Gibson Les Paul Tribute is a guitar that both respects its lineage and uses some modern design elements to produce a cool vibe and playing experience. This particular guitar features a Cherry Sunburst with satin nitrocellulose finish. The satin finish looks great and will help to not show finger print smudges from playing. Another great feature on the Gibson Les Paul Tribute is the Ultra modern weight relief. This process retains a solid core of mahogany under the maple cap while chambering around the perimeter. The provided weight relief is substantial and really lightens the load on your shoulder when playing for longer periods of time. Unlike a full chambered design the solid core limits the effect on the overall tone.

MORE →The Gibson 57 Reissue Les Paul Junior is a re-creation of one of the popular entry level Les Paul, introduced in 1954. Here we’re looking at a Gibson 57 Reissue Les Paul Junior in a Faded Cherry nitrocellulose lacquer finish. Like its source, this guitar is simply built with Mahogany slab body, a Mahogany neck with full ‘baseball bat’ neck profile and an Indian Rosewood fingerboard – the 1950s originals would have used Brazilian Rosewood. This guitar has been played, and there’s an amount of ‘buckle rash’ on the back.

MORE →The Spector USA Forte 4 bass brings back the early highly innovative Spector basses seen at The Twelfth Fret and in the hands of many pro players in the late 1970s and early 1980s. Stuart Spector began building basses with Alan Charney about the same time as The Twelfth Fret, and soon connected with Ned Steinberger – all members of the Brooklyn Woodworker’s Co-op. Steinberger, fresh from a furniture design course, took Spector’s neck-through construction and added a unique and very comfortable curved body. That curved body became one of the hallmarks of Spector designs.
