The Kentucky KM-1500 Master F-Model Mandolin – Vintage Sunburst uses the finest, most highly figured Michigan Maple combined with the whitest, most fine-grained Adirondack Spruce. These solid woods are meticulously hand carved and graduated — just as were the fabled originals of the early ’20s — to achieve the finest tone quality and volume possible in a new instrument.

Built during 1997 and 1998, the Gibson Early J45 was designed by Ren Ferguson as a re-issue of the 1952 to 1954 J-45. The same treatment was seen in the ‘Early Hummingbird’. These models were forerunners to later ‘vintage recreations’ including the Historic, Authentic, Legend, True Vintage and New Vintage lines.

The Hofner Model 182E2 or ‘Solid Bass’ when sold by Selmer, was built at Bubenreuth Bavaria from 1962 to 1985, and was also available in a single pickup ‘E1’ model. While Hofner is best known worldwide for the Model 5000/1 violin shaped ‘Beatle Bass’ used by Paul McCartney, they also made many solidbody guitars and basses. The Hofner Model 182E2 uses many of the same components as its more famous cousin, including the pickups, electronics package and ‘Teacup’ control knobs. The scale length is 30 inches or 762mm, the same as the Beatle Bass models.

Drawing from classic Jumbo American guitars like the J-200 and F-500, the Takamine Toby Keith pairs a solid Sitka Spruce top with Flamed Maple for the cutaway, 17 inch wide body. The neck is Maple with Ebony used for the bound fingerboard, and Rosewood for the top-loading bridge. The inlays are Mother of Pearl and Abalone, with an Abalone ring at the rosette.
