❌SOLD❌ Danelectro 3022 DC2 Thinline Electric Bronze, 1959

In the mid 1950’s, interest in the electric guitar rapidly increased and guitars like the Danelectro 3022 DC2 were built to satisfy the demand. Designed to be inexpensive to produce and buy, tens of thousands of these and related guitars were built for sale through department stores like Sears (under the Silvertone brand), some in the $70 price range. While countless players started with guitars like this, most played for their own satisfaction but some went on to spectacular fame.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson ES335TD with Coil Tap Switch Walnut 1977

The highly innovative Gibson ES335TD was an immediate hit when it was introduced in 1958, blending the resonance, attack and decay of an archtop with the sustain and feedback resistance of a solidbody. This feedback resistance was becoming extremely important both to guitarists and guitar designers as amplifiers became ever more powerful and stage volumes rose. These new models – the ES-335, ES-345 and ES-355 – also sported the new, Seth Lover designed Humbucking pickup.

No Longer Available‼ MusicMan Stingray 4 Bass Black, 1978

Here’s a rarity and bit of history – a MusicMan Stingray 4 Bass, built during 1978 in Fullerton, California by CLF Research for MusicMan. CLF stood for Clarence Leo Fender. MusicMan was founded in 1974 and in 1975, Leo Fender’s non-compete agreement lapsed and he became president of Music Man. Until 1979, MusicMan guitars and basses were built by Leo’s other company, CLF Research. After 1979 and until Music Man folded in 1984, Grover Jackson built the bodies and necks and assembled the instruments.

❌SOLD❌ Bourgeois Signature D Madagascar and Adirondack Natural, 2009

Drawing from the iconic and sought after pre-war Dreadnoughts, the Bourgeois Signature D Madagascar serves up a rich combination of tone, presence and volume. Madagascar Rosewood is considered a visual and tonal equivalent to Brazilian Rosewood, though with a bit less orange to the colour. On this Bourgeois Signature D, it’s paired with Adirondack Spruce, as used on most of the best pre-WW2 steel string guitars.

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker Manhattan Midnight, 2014

❌SOLD❌ Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker Manhattan Midnight, 2014

The Gibson Les Paul Melody Maker appeared in 2014 as a 120th Anniversary model – a US made, reasonably priced high quality carved-top guitar with a solid history behind the names. The Melody Maker appeared in 1959 and built until 1971 as an entry level, thin slab Mahogany bodied single cutaway model, with one or two single coil pickups and a narrow headstock. The neck was Mahogany with a Rosewood fingerboard. For 1961, a second cutaway was added, but it wasn’t until 1967 that the Melody Maker got the ‘SG’ body shape.
