Brand: Oskar Graf
Instrument Categories: Classical and Flamenco, Guitars, SOLD
Oskar Graf classical guitars are built in a small shop, some distance northeast of Kingston, Ontario. He has been building since 1970 and his instruments are very well regarded. Raised and educated in Berlin, Graf apprenticed to a cabinetmaker and studied design. After a 1968 move to Toronto, Canada, he moved east to Clarendon and is now in the scenic town of Westport.
Built during 2005, this Oskar Graf classical guitar pairs a bear claw-figured Sitka Spruce top with Indian Rosewood for the sides, back, headplate and bridge. The neck is Mahogany with an Ebony fingerboard. The nut and saddle are bone, and the other hardware is a set of Graf tuners, hand built by Oskar’s brother, Jorg. The finish is a French Polish, in very good condition. A fairly large, very thin clear plastic tap plate has been installed to the top on the treble side of the soundhole.
This guitar is in very good, clean condition with little wear. It plays well, and has a full, warm sound. An arched top and back, black hard shell case by TKL is included; the case is in such good condition (it doesn’t even have a layer of dust!) that it appears to be new.
