The Norfolk Jasmine comes to us from a new company operating from the Cambridge, Ontario area. Based on a popular single cutaway thinline body, the Norfolk Jasmine offers top quality woods and materials in a well built package.
The Jasmine uses a chambered Mahogany body with bookmatched flame Maple cap. This design was originally introduced in the late 1950s by Roger Rossmeisl, whose career took him to both Rickenbacker and Fender. This approach provides a light weight, resonant body with more of an acoustic tonal profile than a straight solidbody, with significant feedback resistance. The neck on this model is built by Warmoth of Maple with an Ebony fingerboard. The truss rod adjuster is found on the side of the heel – a very practical place to put it.
For hardware, sealed tuners and a six-saddle Telecaster style bridge are built by Gotoh. The neck pickup is a custom wound mini-humbucker with a custom Tele style bridge pickup. The pickup selector toggle is on the upper bass side, rather than down with the master volume and tone.
This is a well built guitar and we look forward to seeing more from Norfolk.
