Brand: National Resophonic Guitars
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, Resophonic Guitars
In the late 1920s the Style 1 Tricone was the considered ultimate Hawaiian guitar. The three small cones powered by the Aluminum three footed bridge produce a very different quality of tone than the Single Cone Style 0 guitars
Though not as loud as the standard single cone, the Brass body Style 1 Tricone is much sweeter and more complex sounding. And unlike the single cones which really come to life when played aggressively, the transient response of the Tricone is rich and full sounding even when played very delicately. The increase in dynamic range is enhanced by improved sustain and overall balance.
For those who want the warm woody tone of a wood body spider-cone system but need the dynamic range and power of a metal body, the Style one makes a superb fingerstyle and bottle neck blues guitar. Arguably the most versatile of the metal body Resophonic family of guitars
Note: The guitar pictured above was custom ordered with cutaway and electronics, both features being completely optional. In fact, it is far more common to see the guitar without cutaway or electronics.
