Brand: National Resophonic Guitars
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, Resophonic Guitars
The National NRP B Tricone is a special guitar, blending the features of the NRP and the NRP B, which replicates the single-cone, painted body 1930 Duolian.
Built in San Luis Obispo California, the National NRP B Tricone has a wonderful, massive, deep and rich tone with lots of projection. These models carry a unique ‘Black Rust’ finish, reminiscent of the vintage ‘Duco’ frosted finish process. The body is steel, with the painted finish, and uses the Tricone T bridge and three 6 inch cones. The 12-fret neck is Mahogany, with a slotted peghead and ‘NATIONAL’ branded into the front; the full scale – 25.669 inches (652mm) fingerboard is unbound Ebony with Mother of Pearl position markers. Vintage style National tuners are installed.
The original high quality, arched top and back National case is included.
The Black Rust finish is also available on the single cone National NRP Triolian as seen here!
Here’s what National says about the NRP model:
“Our NRP Steel Tricone features the classic styling of the vintage Tricones but with a special sound. The tone of the steel body offers a deeper, darker voice — yet with more immediacy and presence. And it still boasts all the amazing sustain and rich choral tone the Tricones are famous for.
The steel body and coverplate are plated and then hand rubbed with a vintage vibe. Inside, the NRP Steel Tricone features the same type of aluminum resonating cones and T-bridge as the original models.
The mahogany neck features an unbound ebony fingerboard with dot inlays, while the traditional slotted headstock has “NATIONAL” stamped on it.
If you’re seeking a Tricone with a bit more blues feel to it, the NRP Steel guitar has it in spades.”
The NRP B Tricone Model takes this further:
“No two NRP B guitars are alike: The bodies are finished with a multi-stage, hand-textured finish for an individual look and semi-smooth surface profile that emulates the original Duolians.
The mahogany neck with truss rod is capped by an unbound ebony fretboard complete with mother-of-pearl position markers. Vintage-style plain tuners, ebony nut, and “National” stamped into the slotted headstock complete the look of this classic.
…
The sound is powerful and loud, while still being deep and warm. Like the hallowed originals, the NRP B is steeped in mojo.”
