Brand: National Resophonic Guitars
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, Resophonic Guitars
The National NRP Steel 12Fret sports a new lightly ‘distressed’ nickel finish and still delivers the warm, rich unmistakable National sound. This model is also available with a 14-fret neck.
The National NRP Steel 12 is built like other models with steel bodies and single 9.5 inch resonator cone, but is visually distinct with its traditional ‘Sieve’ style cover plate and new finish. This finish can ‘work’ a bit better than the highly polished and reflective surface on the more expensive models, as in not showing smudges as easily. The neck is Mahogany, with an unbound Ebony fingerboard. A dual action Truss rod is installed with adjustment at the head, and the tuners are National strip style with creme buttons.
The original high quality National branded hard shell case is included, and contains keys and a polishing cloth.
More From The Builder On The New National NRP Steel 12Fret model:
“The NRP Steel features a steel body but instead of the painted finish of the “B” Series instruments, it boasts a rubbed nickel exterior that gives the guitar a deep, lovely sheen. Just like the original 1930s Nationals, it has flat-cut f-holes and a ribbed sieve-hole resonator coverplate. The Honduran mahogany neck with truss rod is topped by an ebony fingerboard and slotted headstock. And like the B Series NRP guitars, the tone is incomparable, echoing the tone of a vintage National.”
We also carry the National Raw Steel 12 Fret, with ‘chickenfoot’ resonator cover and raw steel finish.
