Brand: National Resophonic Guitars
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, Resophonic Guitars, SOLD
This National M2 single cone resophonic guitar was built during 2007 in San Luis Opisbo, California. The M1 and M2 models are currently out of production, and were built from 1990 to 1994 and again from 2003 to at least 2012.
The National M2 was National ResoPhonic’s earliest single-cone model. The M1, produced around the same time, was the same general construction but was a Tri-Cone model. The ivoroid-bound body is Mahogany laminate, the neck solid mahogany, and the fingerboard is bound Indian Rosewood – some specs list the fingerboard as Ebony but this example is not. At its heart is a single, biscuit bridge 9.5 inch spun aluminum National cone. The finish is a satin sunburst, and the pearloid headstock overlay is a nice touch.
This example is in overall good condition with little play wear. There are two small areas of lifting finish on the top, at cover attachment points. Fret wear is very light and other finish wear is negligible.
This guitar is set up for a combination of fingerstyle and bottleneck playing and has the distinctive warm National tone with lots of volume and projection.
This National M2 is sold with the original hard shell case.
