Neck	Mahogany neck with ivoroid-bound ebony fingerboard, mother of pearl dot markers. Martin ‘Performance’ slim profile contour, rosewood headplate with gold foil Martin logo.
Frets	Standard Martin frets.
Body	Madagascar rosewood sides and 3-piece back; bound Sitka spruce top with purfled top. Ebony bridge.
Finish	Nitrocellulose lacquer – gloss on body, satin on neck.

Comments	The D-35 has been a key part of the Martin line since 1965. The early models used Brazilian rosewood, but export and import restrictions moved Martin towards Indian rosewood. Now, Madagascar rosewood is available and has many of the tonal and aesthetic characteristics of Brazilian – a little more brilliance than Indian. This is a fine instrument, built solidly as you’d expect a Martin to be, and has the classic, full, Martin dreadnaught tone.
