The Martin 000-16E is a compact auditorium sized guitar that features a Sitka spruce top and Granadillo sides and back. Granadillo is a tropical hardwood from Central America. Granadillo is similar to Indian rosewood but it tends to be slightly harder and denser. This produces a tone similar to Indian rosewood with a scooped midrange and extended bass and trebles but with an additional bell like chime to the top end. When paired with the clarity and dynamic range of Sitka spruce you get clear and ringing sustain from the notes on the Martin 000-16E.
The modified low oval neck shape on the Martin 000-16E is very comfortable to play and the satin finish on the back of the neck allows you to freely slide your hand up and down the fretboard without sticking.
This guitar also features a Fishman Matrix VT Enhance pickup system for further amplification and comes with a padded carrying bag.
