Brand: Linda Manzer
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, SOLD
Linda Manzer is one of the top custom luthiers in the world, and works out of her shop in Toronto, Canada. Part of the group of builders who passed through Jean Larrivee’s various shops, her guitars are prized and it’s unusual to see them for sale.
Here we are looking at a Linda Manzer cutaway steel string acoustic built during 1980 in Toronto. It features a concert body using Sitka Spruce top with Indian Rosewood for the back, sides and headplate, Mahogany for the neck and Ebony for the bridge and bound fingerboard. The nut and saddle are bone. Schaller tuning machines with ebony buttons are installed at the head, and a K&K pickup set has been installed to an endpin jack. This example features Abalone for the rosette and position markers – a mix of dots and a leaflet with stem. The top has a small thin clear plastic tap plate, an excellent idea that protects the top without hiding it.
This guitar is in good playing condition, and it has been played over the last 38 years so there is some minor wear. It’s been well cared for so there are no major dings, dents or scratches. The light lacquer finish is fairly worn on the neck, giving it a smooth feel.
A tweed hard-shell arched-top case by TKL is included.
