Seen here is a very good Larrivee P09 Rosewood Custom parlor guitar, built during mid 2023 at Oxnard, California. The ‘Custom’ refers to the tobacco sunburst top, diamond style mother of pearl position markers, and the abalone Vine logo headstock inlay with silver border. The top is Bearclaw figured Sitka Spruce, with Indian Rosewood for the Maple-bound sides and back. The neck is Mahogany as are the body blocks and linings, with Ebony used for the head plate, bridge and Maple-bound fingerboard. The nut and compensated saddle are bone. This example is strictly acoustic with no electronics installed.
This lovely guitar delivers a full, even tone with enough volume for small rooms and is well set up. It’s in very good, clean condition with only very light wear to the finish and frets.
Developed from the small body, short scale 12-fret guitars of the early 20th century, the Larrivee P09 Rosewood Custom is from the Artist Series and is an excellent instrument for fingerstyle playing.
The Larrivee P09 Rosewood Custom is a short scale, 12 fret neck guitar, with a relatively wide nut width of 1.77 inches or 45mm but a fairly short scale length of 24 inches or 610mm. This shorter scale makes it very suitable for players with smaller hands, and also for 1920s ragtime styles.
The original Larrivee hard shell case is included.
