Brand: Larrivee
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, SOLD
The Larrivee OM-60 is based on the classic Orchestra Model body design paired with a full 25.5 inch scale neck, delivering an even representation of the full spectrum at good volume levels. The body is built with Sitka Spruce for the top and Indian Rosewood for the back, sides. and headplate. The neck is Mahogany and the pyramid-style bridge and bound fingerboard are Ebony.
This is an Larrivee OM-60 SH model variant, so it has a Slotted peghead, and Herringbone binding around the top and soundhole. The Slotted peghead increases string pressure at the nut, without increasing the angle of the head. That provides better separation and sustain on the open notes, but without the increased risk of breakage from a steeper angle.
This Larrivee OM-60 SH lists new for about $3,948.
This example of the Larrivee OM-60 SH dates to January 14, 2005 and was built at the Larrivee shop in Oxnard, California. It is in good shape, but it has been used as intended and over the years has required some repairs. There are two repaired and cleated cracks in the top. There is a bit of finish chipping and marking, mostly around the edges. Fret wear is moderate, and mostly in the lower positions. However, it plays very well and sounds great.
The original Larrivee hard shell case is included.
