The Larrivee LV-03 Mahogany Steel String Acoustic Guitar is part of the Recording series, and uses the traditional Larrivee L body, drawn from the proportions of the Hauser style classical guitar. This gives it a very reliable, even tonal representation throughout the spectrum and plenty of volume when requested. The cutaway definitely adds to the upper fret accessibility.
This Larrivee LV-03 example dates August 28, 2008 to and was built at the Larrivee plant in Vancouver, BC. It features a Sitka Spruce top, with Mahogany used for the sides, back body blocks and neck. The body is bound with maple. The bridge, head plate and ivoroid-bound fingerboard are Ebony.
The nut and saddle are bone and Larrivee-branded tuners round out the hardware. The finish is a clear satin. It has an LR Baggs Anthem pickup system factory-installed – currently, this would likely be labelled an LV-03E model but here it’s simply LV-03. The finish is a natural Satin.
This Larrivee LV-03 guitar is in very good condition and plays very nicely. Wear is minor, with a few small marks around the body. Fret wear is light. It was recently serviced at The Twelfth Fret Repair Shop. The tone is clear, crisp and bright with an even representation of the mids and low frequencies.
The original Larrivee hard shell, arched top case is included.
