Brand: Larrivee
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, SOLD
The Larrivee L-09, based on the classically influenced L-body series, features a Sitka Spruce top paired with Indian Rosewood for the back, sides and head plate. The neck and body blocks are Mahogany, with Ebony for the bridge and bound fingerboard. The top braces are Sitka Spruce and the internal bridge plate is Maple. On this older model, the tuners are Schaller M6 models in Chrome, and there are no electronics.
The L series first appeared in the 1980’s and the balanced body shows the clear influence of classical builders, like Edgar Monch, that Larrivee was exposed to during his early days in Toronto. This body design provides an excellent representation of the harmonic range, and plenty of volume and projection.
Dating to 1993 in Victoria British Columbia, this Larrivee L-09 is in overall good condition with expected wear and some repairs, not unusual for a 30 year old instrument. Fret wear is moderate to heavy. At some point the top’s center seam separated, and this was repaired and cleated. The guitar has a very good, even sound.
The original Larrivee-branded arched top hard shell case is included, and the case contains the case key and the guitar’s specially shaped truss rod adjustment wrench.
