Brand: Larrivee
Instrument Categories: Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, SOLD
This Larrivee L-09 MR is the first of five guitars custom built during 2007 for the 30th Anniversary of The Twelfth Fret. Starting with a standard L-09 model, the sides and back are Madagascar Rosewood and the top is Sitka Spruce, bound with Maple. As typical for Larrivee models, the body blocks, linings and neck are Mahogany while the bridge and Ivoroid bound fingerboard are Ebony. The rosette features an Abalone ring and the headstock sports the silver inlay designed by Tony Duggan-Smith many years ago. The inlay at the octave fret is taken from The Twelfth Fret’s logo.
This example has no installed electronics and is purely acoustic.
With its serial number dating it to February 5, 2007, this Larrivee L-09 MR is in great shape with light wear. A seam split on the top, some time ago, was professionally repaired, cleated and touched up. Fret and finish wear is very light.
The original hard shell case is included.
Here’s the builder on the current Larrivee L-09 models:
“An industry leader in its class, the 09 Artist Series is one of the longest standing models in our catalog. The 09 is the genesis of Jean’s ‘recipe’, reached perfection with the first L09 originally built in the ’70s. 40 years later, not much has changed. A perfect combination of East Indian Rosewood back and sides, Sitka spruce top, and powered by Jean’s legendary X-Brace system. The 09 Series delivers a powerful, yet balanced, dynamic range. Whether in the studio or live, flat-picking or strumming, this true workhorse offers all the response and the tone you will need.”
