This limited edition Larrivee L-03 Silver Oak with a Bearclaw Sitka Spruce top dates to early 2008 in Vancouver, BC and is in great condition with its original hard shell case. Larrivee names the highly figured back and side wood as Silver Oak, while its proper name is Grievella Robusta, also called Australian Lacewood – it is not actually an Oak.
The Larrivee L-03 is part of the ‘Recording’ series and is normally constructed using Sitka Spruce for the top, Mahogany for the sides and back and for the neck, body blocks and linings, with Ebony for the head plate, bridge and bound fingerboard. The body binding is Indian Rosewood. Appointments are simple, with just the Larrivee logo in acrylic and small dot position markers. The finish is satin, in very good shape, and this example has no installed electronics.
The original hard shell case is included.
