Brand: Larrivee
Instrument Categories: 12 String, Acoustic Steel String, Guitars, SOLD
The Larrivee J-05-12 follows the successful Jumbo 12-string design, used to great success by Guild and based on the Gibson super jumbo body originating in the late 1930s.
This example dates to July 8, 1996 and was built in Victoria, British Columbia. The model number identifies it as a J body – Jumbo – in 05 trim, with Sitka Spruce top and Mahogany back and sides. As with other Larrivee models, the neck and body blocks are Mahogany and the fingerboard and bridge are Ebony. This guitar has Indian Rosewood body binding. The rosette includes an abalone ring.
As a jumbo 12, it sounds great, and large. It’s very responsive and covers a lot of the audible frequency spectrum, maintaining crisp and clear trebles and good articulation on bass notes.
This guitar is over 20 years old and has had a few repairs over the years. Two top cracks have been glued and cleated. Fret wear is minor, and wear otherwise is minor.
The original Larrivee hard shell case is included.
