The Twelfth Fret ~ Since 1977 ~

❌SOLD❌ Jean-Claude Larrivee Classical Guitar, 1974

Brand:

Instrument Categories: , ,

The first Larrivee classical guitars appeared while Jean-Claude Larrivee was studying guitar building with the late Edgar Monch in Toronto. By the time this guitar was built, in 1974, his workshop was on the second floor of the Tarragon Theater. From there, expansion has continued as Larrivee began building exceptional steel string guitars.

Many of Larrivee’s apprentices have gone on to become prominent builders in their own right – David Wren, Grit Laskin, Linda Manzer and Sergei De Jonge to name four.

This Jean-Claude Larrivee Classical Guitar, 1974 is built with a Spruce top and Indian Rosewood back, sides, headplate and bridge, with Mahogany for the neck and Ebony for the fingerboard. It has no serial number but is signed and label-dated to 1974. It’s in good playing condition, and was set up in The Twelfth Fret’s repair shop. There is some play and fingernail wear to the top, and a couple of other small marks, but overall is in good condition. A black hard-shell case is included.
