This Larrivee C09M was built during May of 1991 in Victoria, BC and features a Sitka Spruce top, Florentine cutaway and spectacular set of Flamed Maple for the sides and back!
Based on the classic Larrivee L-body, which itself draws from Larrivee’s experience building classical guitars, the Larrivee C09M pairs Sitka Spruce and Maple for the sharp Florentine-cutaway body, Mahogany for the body blocks and neck, and Ebony for the bridge, head plate, and bound fingerboard. The Larrivee logo is in Mother of Pearl, and this model pre-dates the silver headstock boundary designed by Tony Duggan-Smith during his tenure with Larrivee.
The C09 model is still in production, but now is standard with Indian Rosewood for the sides and back.
This guitar is in good overall shape, and plays quite well, with a bright, well balanced, tight and focused sound. Approaching 30 years old and having been used as intended but well cared for, it has a number of small marks from play wear on the top and light wear to the back finish. The finish itself is acquiring a lovely light amber patina.
The original Larrivee hard shell case is included.
