The Knaggs Kenai model takes its name from Alaska’s Kenai River and is a single-cut solidbody with a carved Maple top on a Mahogany back.
Built in Greensboro, Maryland since 2019 in the shop of Joe Knaggs, the Knaggs Kenai is a guitar that has its own distinct look yet carries influences from Knagg’s 25 years as a designer and luthier at PRS. In 2009, Knaggs partnered with PRS marketer Peter Wolf to create their own company with their own designs.
This Knaggs Kenai ‘Wrap’ Gold Top has a build date of 6/3/2021 and is in very good, clean condition. The top is carved Maple on a contoured Mahogany back, with three-layer purfling and Maple binding. The set neck is also Mahogany with a 24.75 inch (628.6mm) scale, Maple bound Indian Rosewood fingerboard and Mother of Pearl lozenge-shaped position markers. The headstock is a 3×3 design with an Ebony head plate.
The components are all top shelf, with Kluson Revolution tuners with translucent keystone buttons at the head, a powder-coated intonation-adjustable stop-tail bridge at the body, and Lollar P-90 pickups.
This is a very nice guitar to play, quite aside from its very positive visual appeal. It plays well, and the Lollar P-90s sound wonderful.
The original Knaggs branded hard shell case is included and is in excellent condition.
