Jarret Guitars was founded in Westport, Connecticut in 2002 and focuses on direct sales of custom ordered, hand built guitars. However, they closed during late 2013 due to recession effects. While their website is gone, their Facebook page linked below offers photos of various Jarrett models and mentions of models available for sale. However, the most recent posting is several years old.
The Jarrett Shelby Cobra 40th Anniversary model features a single-cutaway chambered body, likely of Mahogany, somewhat larger than a Les Paul. The Maple neck is a full scale – 650mm or 25.59 inches with a Rosewood fingerboard. For hardware, standard enclosed tuners are at the head, and a TonePros Stop Tail bridge with adjustable saddles at the body. The pickups are Gibson 57 Classic models. The volume and tone controls are topped with a Shelby Cobra logo, similar to the larger badge on the top. On the headstock, there is an inlay set in various shells of the iconic Cobra and a 40th Anniversary badge. The clear pickguard is signed by Carroll Shelby. The octave position marker is engraved with ‘289FIA’, references to the Ford small block engines used in FIA races.
Available finishes for the Jarrett Shelby Cobra included the Metallic Blue seen here, and Red. Of the limited run, half were of each colour. The guitar plays well and cleanly, with vanishingly little wear.
This Jarrett Shelby Cobra 40th Anniversary model is sold with its original rectangular TKL hard shell case.
