James Trussart spent some time travelling around his native France, England and the USA, playing and learing about instrument construction and finishing. He now resides and works in the Los Angeles area and produces uniquely built and finished instruments based on classic designs.
This James Trussart Rust O Matic Steelcaster features the unique Trussart steel body and hand-treated rust finish, coupled to a bolt on neck with a ’62 Standard type neck contour and a rosewood fingerboard. The head has the Trussart logo plate inlaid, with TonePros Kluson Deluxe stule tuners.
Using a common variation on the classic Fender Telecaster hardware and wiring, the Steelcaster sports a vintage style three-saddle bridge with a bridge tray cutaway for better access to the switch and volume control; Arcane / Trussart pickups are used with a humbucker in the neck position.
Serial Number: Varies as new; this is 14 080, built during 2014 at James Trussart’s shop in Los Angeles, California.
